- Volume
7 Number 4 November 2003:
Includes details on the 2003 New Orleans reunion, newly elected officers,
Taps, stories, photos and letters. Note that the date given in the
newsletter for the 2004 reunion has the wrong year.
- The rest of volume 7 is scheduled to be scanned
soon.
- October
2004: with a description and photos (color!) from the 2004 reunion in
Riverside, new officers, a thanks to Jim Watkins, an excerpt from
"Incident Over Mostar", Muroc training crash stories, letters and
more. This is a PDF, about 700k download size and will open in a new window.
- March 2005: Includes
chapter one from James "Bud" McIntosh's book "Recollections
of a Young Aviator", plenty of details on the upcoming 2005 reunion,
photos from 1944-45 Italy, "Flight of the Lady Corinne" by John S.
Mapa, and all the regular columns. This file is a 1.3mb PDF and will open in
a new window.
- August 2005:
This issue is dedicated to the ground crews and support personnel that
allowed the 456th to be successful in the air. With the Washington, DC,
reunion fast approaching, the 28 pages and dozens of photos with a lengthy
"Mail Call" make this issue one to stir the memories. This is a
HUGE PDF file at 4.1mb!
- March 2006: With
numerous photos from the 2005 reunion in Washington DC and the first part of
a huge story called "The Bomb Group" by Doyle Fillers, this is a
packed issue. Also dozens of letters and other photos, and the latest news
on the 2006 reunion coming up in Covington, Kentucky.
- August 2006: With a
continuation of "The Bomb Group" by Doyle Fillers, photos from the
Veteran's Memorial Gardens in Balboa Park, San Diego, and the huge bronze
B-24 sculpture just dedicated there, many letters and other photos, poetry, and more. Note
that the hardcopy of this newsletter was not mailed out until November 1,
2006.
- December 2006:
This issue concludes "The Bomb Group" by Doyle Fillers, has an
extensive "Mail Call" section, and features a synopsis of the 2006
reunion in Cincinnati along with many photos. Also is a lengthy piece from
Dale Shebilsky on his capture and torture at the hands of our Russian
'allies' after he was shot down.
- Volume 9 Number 1 February 2008:
On the back cover of this issue is a copy of an original artwork
depicting Bernard Mayotte of the 745th by Robert Voorhees, used with
permission and furnished by Michael Mayotte (son). In addition to the
extensive "Mail Call" section there are many photos and a synopsis
of the 2007 Gowen Field reunion, and a number of historical photos as well.
